What is a Doula?

A Doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible.

What I offer:

*On call from signing to the birth of the baby, being available to the baby's mother and family to answer any questions and concerns they may have 24/ hours a day.

*Continuous emotional support offered from the time labor begins until the baby comes, no matter how long the birth may take.

*To come along side the doctors or midwives offering continuous emotional support and positioning ideas to the birthing mother that help support the mother through the most difficult moments of labor.

*Support for the husband or partner and other children and family members that may be present during labor, giving suggestions and directions on how they can help the laboring mother.

*Nursing support and support for the mother and family for several hours after the baby is born helping with the transition time as the family develops into a new family unit.

What I can't do...I can not help it if the nursing staff asks me to leave after your birth due to their protocol.  I also can not make your baby come...That is up to you...I do believe that you can do it :o)  You can have a beautiful birth.

I would love to work with you in the delivery of your beautiful baby.
